Adding confirmation to a Multisig transaction in a wallet with an accounting device
As the owner of a wallet with three multi-signatures, you are probably familiar with the process of creating and managing transactions on the Ethereum network. In this article, we will provide instructions on how to add confirmation to a multi-signature transaction using the Secure Ledger app for your device.
Prerequisites:
- A multi-signature wallet for 3 owners is created in the wallet.
- Your Ledger device has the necessary software and firmware installed (Safe is compatible with Ledger devices running Linux, Windows, or macOS).
- You have an understanding of the Ethereum multi-signature protocol and the concept of confirmation.
Step by Step:
- Create a new deal
:
* Open Vault on your Ledger device.
* Click on the “Transactions” tab.
* Click the “+” icon to create a new offer.
* Enter the offer title, description and details (for example, property, gas price and fees).
- Configure multi-signature settings:
* In the transaction proposal editor, go to the “Multi-signature” tab.
* Turn on “Approvals” by toggling the switch next to it.
* Set the threshold value (ie, how many confirmations are required for approval). In this example, we will use 2 confirmations as the threshold value.
- Create a multi-signature wallet address

* In the deal editor, go to the “Max” tab.
* Click the “+” icon next to your current wallet address.
* Enter the new name of the wallet and select the multi-signature setting for this wallet (we will also install 2 confirmations).
- Add confirmation:
* In the deal offer editor, select the “Approve” tab.
* Click the “+” icon next to your multi-signature wallet address.
* From the list of offers, select the transaction to which you want to add confirmation.
Tips and Considerations:
- Be sure to check and study the deal carefully before bidding on it.
- If necessary, you can adjust the threshold value, but keep in mind that too many confirmations can slow down the transaction process.
- If your multi-signature wallet is set to a trust threshold higher than 2, you may need to increase your gas price or commission to guarantee confirmation.
